DL 1996 Official Airline Olympics...How Many A/c?

Sat Nov 05, 2005 2:49 am

Delta painted (aside from the Spirit of Delta and the one MD-11 in the special Olympic color) a number of a/c with the "The Official Airline of the 1996 Olympics Games."

How many aircraft were painted with these decals? The whole fleet?

I'm pretty sure the entire mainline fleet had the decals. Every Delta plane I remember in 1995-1996 had them.

T'is true. All mainline DL birds had them. I installed the decals on several of them.

The original sticker was placed on the engines, but later removed due to deterioriation from engine oil. IIRC, none of these were on the 727's or 737's.

I remember being at ATL in both 1995 and 1996 and seeing the decal on every Delta mainline plane I saw.
