Whats with everybody doing away with the cheatline? It looks okay I guess, very modern anyway. But still, it has gone the way of every other big white Beluga out there devoid of any original graphics except the name of the airline.
The previous livery from a few years ago looked better I think. Of course we will probably have years of all three liveries flying around. Indidently if you go to Delta's website and look at their list of aircraft where you can look at seating configs they have all their aircraft in the new livery including TriStars. I doubt we will see a TriStar in it unless its the one that ends up doing the last flight, whenever that will be.
I see a lot of Delta planes here (ATL), and to dd my $.02, they should go back and do something based off the Olympic color scheme from the 96 Olympics. They painted a 767 and a MD-11 in this scheme and it looked damned good.
Its a shame really, just when i was satrting to like the last change they made they changed again.
This has got to be the most bland livery change I've seen in a long time. At least Delta could be consistent with the engine nacelles matching the tail! If Eastern European airlines and the Babyflots are being creative, why can't Delta! YUK!
Looks cleaner. In my opinion, the current scheme is the product of a rush to get a new image for the airplanes. No imagination, the tail awfully boring to look at, just blue with a red triangle at the top. altough the red stripe on the nose combined with the blue looks like if the airplane is smiling, looked from the front.
Ok, my question is, now does all the Regional Connection Aircraft have to change to this, and if so who's going to pay, DL? Seems like a waste of money over a Leos' ego to have his paint job on DLs' airplanes. And next I belive this makes DL to only US major that does not have either its name or logo on the tail?
As being artist, I like the newest livery better. It just make it look much "modernized"... Just like BA's patriotism flag waving tail. The previous livery with blue cheatline over windows was way outdated - make it looks boring...
The regional Connection carriers will sport the new livery and two of them ASA and Comair won't complain about it either. They're both wholly owned subsidiaries of the Atlanta-based airline behemoth. I'm curious however, because one aim of Delta's in their new image was to delete the words: "Air Lines" from the title. What does this mean for the Shuttle, Express, and Connection services. Will all parts of Delta have one homogenous look?
The new livery looks better on the 757 than the 777. However, regardless of the type of plane, I think the new Delta livery has too much white. It is bland and boring. The tail design is ok but nothing to write home about.
Yeah baby! It's cool, especially on the 757, makes it look even sportier than usual. The so-called "ninties" look was very conservative, so I guess it was at least in character. I don't know why they were so anxious to dump "Air Lines", I liked it and especially the fact that they were the only airline to still spell it as two words, like they used to in The Old Days. I don't get the significance of the new flag tail design but it all looks good and if it keeps designers from starving then I think all airlines should change their livery every 18 months. Hey, why not? Spend it on anything but pax improvements, right DL?
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz
The new livery itself is not costing much money. Delta and its connection carriers will repaint the planes on a normal repainting schedule. On mainline jets this normally occurs every three years. The cost in the process will come from the re-branding of gates, ticket counters, etc.
I personally think the new colours do not reflect the delta spirit,
Where is the delta symbol on the tail?
(Delta is a letter from the Greek alphabet BTW)
First time I saw them on a B777 tail, I thought it was just another experiment from AEROFLOT, because the tails seems to be painted in the RUSSIAN FLAG...

A nice design, but for the wrong company, sorry guys.
This is a great livery! When I first saw it (on the B777) I really thought that it WAS Aeroflot! They should definately but the rights from Delta! The "Russian flag" on the tail looks really cool (but they have to turn it right side up!).
I really do like the paint scheme although I seem to be in the minority. And the B757 looks AWESOME in these colors, even better that the 777! Go Delta, you finally got it right!
One good thing about the newest paintjob:
At least Delta finally dropped the line on the fuselage , it was about time, they were one of the very few to have this useless stripe in a new lively. (Although in America it seems to be more popular then in Europe -> AA for instance)
Best livery I have ever seen grace the sides of an airplane. The engines need a little bit of redesign, but other than that, it is superb!! Long live the new scheme!!
I cannot wait to see an MD-80 or a 737-800 in the new scheme, it will look awesome!!
Thank you Teahan for that great 757 picture! That makes me like the new scheme even more. The 757 looks awesome in this scheme, but the 777 isn't that great looking. The size of it doesn't make the new livery look that good.
