Longest Flight On B767-300ER From Point A To B

Mon Nov 07, 2005 12:44 am

Hello all

I can't find on this post so hopefully I'm the only one. We've all been asking whats the longest flight served by certain airplanes so far we haven't talked about B767-300ER. What airline served the longest nonstop flight on B767-300ER? I've notice AC did YYZ - NRT 6406 miles during winter season past few years but now its YYZ - TLV 5781 miles. This is the link to another post were he mentioned AC did YYZ - NRT using B767-300ER.

Alitalia also regularly deploys the 767 on the MXP-PVG run, which clocks in at around 5694 mi (4948 nm).

The SFO run (back when they still flew there) was also a good stretch, 5947 mi. At one stage, after they retired the 747s and before they had enough 777s, AZ also used the 767 on flights to NRT (6072 mi from MXP and 6169 from FCO). That's pretty long!

AA also flys a daily DFW-CDG (4299nm, 4948 miles) and DFW-FCO (5614 miles, 4878nm) using B-767-300ERs, but sometimes sub a B-777-200ER on these routes.

I guess AC still holds the record for B767-300ER YYZ - TLV.. If they bring back 767-300ER YYZ - NRT thats pretty far too.

Varig is runing a weekly service GIG-MUC with 767-300ER from EuroAtlantic, it's a 5962 miles flight (5181 nm). Nowadays they run on a daily basis with 767-300ER GRU-MAD (4512 nm, 5192 miles).

Looks like Pluna has the longest of all mentioned in this thread, with, for example, their January 7 service being as follows:

Pluna
PU 1804
Carrasco (MVD), Montevideo, Uruguay 16:00
Barajas (MAD), Madrid, Spain 06:45 +1 day(s)
Non-stop
763

Of the other long services once (or still) operated by B763s, the following come to mind:
- DL ATH/IST - JFK
- MS CAI-JFK
- Lan Chile had something going to Sydney via some island in the south pacific
- AA LHR-LAX

No it WILL NOT be. The following are all longer than ATL-ATH 4953nm:

From To Distance
KIX MXP 5206 nm (currently B777, but was a 763ER when I flew it in Dec 01)
VIE KUL 5087 nm
VIE SIN 5241 nm
YYZ TLV 5030 nm

So the current champ is OS VIE-SIN on a B767-300ER

And Dec 17 (At this moment). But in some Weeks we may have news about new aircraft (another 763) and more frequencies to MAD, + MVD-REC-TFN on 757. Pluna has authorization to fly 8 frequencies per week to/from Spain.

Wouldn't that distinction rather go to the 767-200 ER (Don't know if it was Air Seychelles or Air Mauritius) since one made a delivery flight of around 14000+ km (correct me f I'm wrong) back in the nineties ?

NZ puts 763 on the AKL-NRT/NGO/KIX run which are about equal in terms of range. NRT/KIX-CHC is slightly longer than the above three. However, this will only last another year as the 777s are slated to takeover NRT & KIX flying. I have taken AKL-NRT & KIX-AKL-KIX previously and nearly 12 hours in a 763!

Despite being at the max performance envelope of the 763, the take-off run didn't seem as long. The longest take-off run I have experienced are always anything associated with an A342/343 plus 744s out of ORD to NRT during the hot summers.
