DUB/BFS-Sharm El Sheikh Flights: Summer 2006

Tue Nov 08, 2005 3:52 am

Its been long overdue but finally Dublin and Belfast will get their first regular charter connections to the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) next summer.

Starting in May 2006, both cities will each get a weekly (Sunday) charter flight to SSH. Up until now the Irish-Egyptian market has been restricted to ad hoc charter flights to Luxor.

The service is being offered by Panorama Holidays.

Would be interesting to see which airline(s) will operate these services and using which aircraft. Would such services be possible with A320s/B737NGs during the summer periods?

Any info would be interested

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Eirjet operating this service. They operated DUB-LXR in Summer 05 - with the odd tech stop in Italy on the way back!

Greenjet, any idea why it's taken so long to get an Ireland-SSH link?

BTW, where did the Eirjet flights make the tech stop? Ostend?
