E-Jets Improved Ranges

Wed Nov 09, 2005 11:33 am

Noted on Embraer's site that the Ranges of the 190 and 195 have been increased to 2300nm and 2100nm respectively. These are quoted for the AR version of the craft.

For the 170 and 175, the ranges are 2000nm and 1800nm respectively. These are quoted for the LR version of the craft.

(As an aside, the 145's extreme range variant is the 145XR.)

Wondering if someone can help with decoding Embraer's naming strategy and what is done with the craft to achieve the A, L and X range variants.

Is their any possiblity of an EJet, that might some day have a range to do BOS - LAX? (which is 2250nm).

AR - Advanced Range
LR - Long Range?
XR - Extended Range?

LOL, I don't know... AR is definately Advanced Range though. Wonder why they came up with all the acronyms.

I always thought it was:

ER = Extended Range
LR = Long range

Never heard of AR?
