Continental Offers More Refunds...

Sat Nov 12, 2005 9:25 am

According to continental.com...

All passengers, who are OnePass members, are now able to get refunds for purchased tickets within 24 hours of ticketing, regardless of fare.

Not a bad move...

Go Continental. No wonder they are my favorite airline...

US has had this policy for years. You don't have to be a FF member, either. I think most airlines do this.

US DID have that policy, they unfortunately got rid of it with the HP merger..

Judging by the fact that you say you are "Chairman's Gold", I'd have a hard time believing anything you say about US Airways.

You're either Gold Preferred or Chairman's Preferred, not Chairman's Gold.

It is TRUE, this policy at US Airways has been discontinued. Your reservation can still be held for 24 hours....BUT your fare is only guaranteed at the time of purchase.

Does the ability to cancel the reservation complement or replace the existing continental.com feature allowing customers to hold a ticket for 24hrs without paying for it?

If so, good job CO.

The big difference is that, while the other airlines have let you cancel a ticket within 24 hours, CO had let you place a reservation on hold and save the fare without paying anything.

Now you can do both - put it on hold as well as get a refund within 24 hours - they give you the best of both worlds.

Wow, I hadn't heard that.  Embarrassment

Doesn't surprise me, though. They've adopted all the other HP policies.  boggled
