Delta Shuttle

Tue Nov 15, 2005 9:22 am

It now appears that Delta Shuttle has started operations with an all MD-88 fleet. Does anyone within the Delta system know specifically which aircraft are operating the Shuttle flights?

Also, now that they've been replaced, what's going to happen to the Delta Shuttle 737-300?

Also does anyone at DL know if any of the MD88's will be getting DL Shuttle titles as so far none have appeared at LGA ? The MAT at LGA looks a little strange with only MD88's parked at it's gates.

Cheers

I doubt any of them are going to get the Shuttle titles while they are still in a two-class configuration. These planes might be rotated out at either BOS, LGA or DCA for flights to other destinations overnight, possibly to get them to ATL for some maintainence, etc. When the one-class Shuttle M80s come out, I'd expect them to have Shuttle titles.

My one question is how does the open seating work? I'd assume the first 14 people on board get the F seats, but I never know. I might take the Shuttle next month, so if I do, it'll be interesting to see if I get a 2-class plane (of course, I'm hoping they somehow reserve them for Medallions, but then again, the vast majority of Shuttle customers probably are Medallions...)
