Status Of European (EAAC) 742's?

Thu Nov 17, 2005 8:37 am

Does anyone out there know of the status of European's 742's?

Are a number still operating for Corsair?

Or are they all parked?

Status Of European (EAAC) 742's?

The G-BDXO B747-200 is in AMS and they just started the scrap the aircraft near Hangar 9 at Schiphol East area.

The G-BDXE B747-200 flew some legs in the beginning of October for the PY (Surinam Airways), with Corsair titles.

Thanks SPL. Do you know where G-BDXE is right now?

Does anyone know the status of the rest of the European 742's?

My Dad who was a PFE for European was told last week that the 747 fleet is to be withdrawn from service at the end of the Month.

Filter is right about the end of 747 ops for EAAC.

The Corsair contract has finished and the aircraft were retuned to EAAC and parked temporarily at Exeter.

Some adhoc / acmi flying has taken place though this is now finished too.

G BDXE is now at Kemble
G BDXG remains at BOH I believe
G BDXO remains at AMS being broken up (this may have been completed now?)

Not sure if there is still one at Exeter - one of the two 747s off the Corsair contract donated an engine to a Transaero 747, don't know if it was replaced
I don't like signatures...
