Kingfisher to set up pilot training centre
New Delhi, Nov. 18 (UNI): Kingfisher Airlines plans to set up a pilot training centre outside Mumbai, its Chairman Vijay Mallya, said on Thursday.

The aviation academy will be equipped with flying simulators, he told delegates attending the second Indo-US Economic Summit.

"Instead of leaning on government-run training centres, we have decided to set up our own academy," said Dr Mallya. "This will be able to create of pool of trained pilots for Kingfisher Airlines as well as the entire aviation industry in India."

Even the Seattle-based aerospace major Boeing is close to setting up a flight training simulator facility in India. The plane manufacturer will set up the unit either in Bangalore or in Noida near New Delhi.

It makes sense. With more training centres & Simulators available.More savings & better opportunity for trained staff.
9W has made a start.
Currently its cheaper to send Pilots for Simulator trainings in SA + Hotel stay + Travel than to Hyd at the IC facility  Smile

Also heard Boeing & Airbus both plan to set up ther training centres too.
