I think Air Paradise was a good try but they put all their eggs into one basket and lost it all.

Interesting to note KordaMentha has been appointed as administrators.

This is really bad news for Bali.

One of the things that was keeping some people going to Bali was the fact
that Air Paradise ment prices had droped significantly. If the go back to the old level in the pre-Air Paradise days, with reduced frequencies compared to the pre AD days (GA thinking here), well, don't hold your breath bali.

The winner out of this could very well be Thai Airways International. Their HKT-SYD-MEL-HKT 744 flight was suppose to be seasonal, but I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to keep it after the summer now.

TG's BKK-SYD-MEL-HKT-BKK services are not seasonal.... They have been operating at 3pw now for about 18 months...
October 2003 to be exact...

TG is supposed to be dropped the HKT stop as of 1 Feb 2006, and i agree with you, this should be reconsidered.

In fact, if I were TG, I would operate HKT on the daylight services from MEL and SYD, especially now that AKL has been dropped as a SYD extension.

All this would mean is that the afternoon services which departs MEL/SYD around 17.00 would depart about 2 hrs earlier...

A sad sad day indeed,It is disappointing to see the nastys win another round, but on the other hand how many innocent people have to give up their lives to prove a point. AD you will be missed at both Syd and Mel.

Bugger,

Well PER has now lost 3 ailines and 15 flights a week

Australian Airlines (Services suspended) PER - DPS twice weekly
Air Paradise PER - DPS 6 flights
Valueair PER - SIN Daily

QF currently running stop gap flights till AO resumes?

Garuda must be loving this with daily DPS -PER flights

there goes the cheap flights

Does any one know what QF loads to Bali are like now? I imagine not many Aussies are going to Bali. It's a pity that so many will suffer because of a handful of murderers.

This is sad news. I personally always thought that A300/A310 aircraft were too big and smaller aircraft should have been operated, like A320s or B737s with more frequency.

As much as it is disappointing to see another airline bite the dust, this came as no real surprise. If Australian Airlines cannot make money with the expertise and management of Qantas to leisure destinations, with codeshare and oncarriage (including oneworld etc) how an earth would a leisure airline with fares no higher than $1500 rountrip per pax make a buck?

The market will continue to consolidate.

I was on Bali when the last bombs went off:

My GF flew Air Paradise back to Melbourne, never got to try it myself.
