US/HP Will They Have To Many RJ's?

I Noticed With the HP/US Merger And Air Wisconsin coming online as an Express carrier it looks like they will have an Issue with over capacity with High Casm 50 to 70 seat RJ's!! Do they really need that many RJ's? I would think Some Dash 8-300 and 400 or some ATR's would be a good fit to supplement RJs on the many short Haul East Coast routes. Will they park some of the 50 seaters or does there New Route Network support the Number of RJs?
Well any info on this subject would be appreciated or just an opinion.

Some of the other USX RJ providers are being pulled down. Notably, Mesa won't be doing any USX East 50-seat flying anymore... but their 50-seaters in the West will remain - and the 86-seat CR9s will potentially expand.

I think Trans States and Chautauqua are also being phased down to some extent. PSA is getting 70-seaters...

I guess you could say that UA and US are swapping SJPs.

Definately not ATRs, but rumor has it, they are looking hard at the Q400, which has a much lower CASM than the CRJ and CR7.

The CR9 are the best thing Mesa has going for them, they will be taking more even if they drop smaller aircraft

They might be great for Mesa, but the CR9s suck as far as having to fly them goes. Did one PHX-OAK and it was horrible. Can't imagine having to do a midcon on them.

Plus, nothing like exPlus, so even us FlightFundies sit in the back.

I'd much rather see more Embraer 170s or 190s. With a six-seat F cabin, please.

A regional is a regional, that's why they don't fly mainline planes. I had to ride in a CR9 from PDX-PHX...about 2 and a half hours. I can deal.

I can't wait for the Embraers, but those will be mainline, not Mesa.

The CR9's are a fine aircraft to fly in. I found them to be very comfortable...much more so than the 200's.

OK, more comfortable than the CRJ-200 is like saying an airline's seat pitch is better than RyanAir's. It just about can't possibly be worse.

I think the operative phrase is "damning with faint praise."

The CR9s are OK as long as you are on an empty flight or in a aisle seat. I was on a 2.5 hour SAT-PHX flight against on window on a full flight, with a big burly dude sitting next to me.....it was miserable. The E170/E190 are far superior in terms of comfort.
