Don't know about A340s - but on the Triple Seven Boeing offer the option of overhead rest areas, apparently there's room in the fuselage crown:-

The MH B777 have an underfloor cabin crew rest area. It is the size of a double LD3 at the front of the rear freight hold. It is accessed by a near vertical ladder from a toilet sized compatment by R3 door. It can be removed like a container, and it has happened that the loaders ripped one out once by mistake, so inside the freight hold it is covered in large wording to stop them doing this! The pilots have two bunks just aft of the cockpit on the port side on the main deck.

Both Boeing and Flight Structures Inc offer lower lobe and door 3 overhead crewrests for the 777. Flight Structures also offers a small door 1 overhead crewrest for the 777.

Airtours have Loo's in the Cellar and some great single seats at the side of the wall that seperates the stairs. Theer are Six cubicles and an area that is for tittivating up. They also have a crew member there to stop any hanky panky
