Swiss First Class

Sun Nov 27, 2005 3:26 pm

What is the Swiss First Class product like? How does it compare to other European airlines like BA, AF, LH etc? Do they give out amenity kits or pyjamas like BA does? Thanks for the help!

Swiss definitely has a competitive first class product. It is a relatively new design that is on par with the other international airlines of Europe. They offer everything you would expect and I would put them on par with LH or BA (I haven't experienced AF).

From the Swiss website:

Flying SWISS First is a sublime feeling. You’ll enjoy comfort, luxury, calm and privacy similar to what you would experience if you were travelling in your own private jet. Complemented by the finest meals and beverages, complete with service that satisfies every wish.

Room for two

Your seat is accompanied by an ottoman on which you can rest your legs or you can invite a fellow Swiss First passenger to join you for a conversation or a meal. Your table is also designed to accommodate two persons. And when your meal is over, your table folds up neatly and can be tucked away on the side.

Your seat becomes a bed

The press of a button is all it takes. Within a few seconds you’ll be able to stretch out and relax.

Configuration 1–2–1

Length Width Pitch
Seat 56 cm* / 22 ``* 211 cm / 83``
Table 76 cm / 30`` 66 cm / 26``
Bed 203 cm / 80`` 60 cm / 23.60``
* between the armrests

Major and minor features

We pamper you throughout your flight. Right from the moment our flight attendants welcome you aboard with countless details and extras along the way. Such as:

À-la-Carte-Service with finest porcelain.
An amenities kit you can use long after your flight – stocked with socks, eyeshades, toothbrush, toothpaste and earplugs.
Other comfort features:

Slippers for medium-sized and larger feet.
Products from Swiss luxury brand La Prairie: hand cream, moisturiser, facial spray (located in the Swiss First lavatory).
On request, shaving equipment, shoe horn, nail file, hairbrush, needle and thread, lip balm, moisturiser, mouthwash.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Based on my experience, Swiss first class is a top-rate product. Was upgraded when I missed my AA connection to Dallas, and since the west coast was my final stop, it worked out fine (okay better than fine). No comparison between AA business class and Swiss first class.

Sounds good...do they give out pyjamas on overnight flights like BA does? I still have my BA ones and they are quite comfortable!

They've been upgrading it a bit in the last few weeks - I currently constantly get to see the inflight-news on my flights to FRA and VIE, but I don't really remember what they've upgraded... I think it's something like an improved amenities bag and, I think, upgraded china (plates & things) and, I think, the pajamas...

I'll try to have a closer look Tuesday morning, when I'm back off to Vienna...

Regards,
Frank
