Note the stock values of Skywest and Mesa to the right.
Not bad.

The fact that two well-placed regional carriers are doing well does not speak for the entire industry.

The small jet provider business is a game of musical chairs - and if you get left without a sugar daddy major, well... see ACA.

Mesa is well-placed because they feed *everybody* - HP/US, UA and Delta. Similarly, SkyWest has UA and Delta.

AirWhiskey made the smart move by buying into the new US... otherwise, where were they going to go after UA cut them off? Interestingly, ZW is basically swapping - they'll take over all of Mesa's US East 50-seat flying while Mesa grabs the 70- and 50-seat market for UA and the 86-seat HP/US flights.

The wholly owned carriers attached to DL and NW are already taking it in the shorts.
USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.
