Am 757 Makes Emergency Landing At HMO

Tue Nov 29, 2005 11:16 am

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that today we had an unexpected visitor here at HMO.

AM Flight 184 from MEX to TIJ (a B757) had to make an emergency landing here at HMO when one of the plane's two engines shut off in mid-flight.

The end result was 2 busted tires and 184 very scared passengers and crew.

The plane is currently parked at a remote location and another 757 was sent to pick up the stranted passengers. 2 757's at HMO at the same time, now that's a rare sight.

That's pretty scary! I'm glad everything turned out ok! Very good on the airline's part to send a replacement immediately.

Funny how the reporter talks about how the failure of "one of the right-side engines" provoked the emergency landing of this B752. I just can't stand it when journalists talk about things they are clueless about.

Anyone knows the registration? Could it be N802AM?
