Cheapest Time To Book Airline Tickets

Wed Nov 30, 2005 1:46 am

In looking for airline tickets to CDG and/or AMS for March, I read earlier on a.net that the cheapest week to book airline tickets is the week between Christmas and New Years. Is this true? Or would you book the ticket ASAP for the cheapest March fare, as it looks now from SYR-CDG or SYR-AMS it's mid 600's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Matt in KITH

I imagine, the earlier you book, the cheaper it will be! I'm not very knowledgeable with airline tickets so maybe somebody will have a better answer for you.

Matt,

Wait until right after christmas. Airlines dump alot of seats so you can get a nice fare. Another a.nut told me this, as im trying to get a cheap BOS-LON flight in feb. Though 600 sounds like a good price, you may even get it lower if you wait.

Cheers,
Justin

I got $268 plus tax for 10-15FEB DCA-BOS-LHR-JFK-DCA. London in February from the northeast is less about capacity (most of the flights are pretty light) and more about flight restriction. The fare I found had to utilize the daylight flight out of Boston on the way over to qualify for it.. Mind you there was $118.10 in taxes on the ticket.. and now they've added a $55 each way surcharge for fuel.
