program at AAAE was pretty much duplicated and taken from the AAE
(Accredited Airport Executive) program. I've been in the AAE
program for a few years now, have passed both the written (where the CM
comes from) and the paper, and parts of the orals. But with some other outside issues over the past couple of years, I haven't had the time to complate my AAE
In the meantime, since I had passed the written section of the AAE
, I was grandfathered a CM
. As I mentioned earlier, the CM
test is essentially the same thing as the AAE
The school you mention is in Denton, Texas. I'm not sure how often it's offered nowadays, but when I took it, it was twice a year. It was five days of very intensive classwork, and five nights of intense study. We kind of made up groups of students who would hang out together, eat meals (MSY
paid for my tuition and meals, so we ate great up there), and study. Of the five people in my group, I am still close friends with all but one.
One thing I did on my own was two take two pads of "Post-It" notes with me. I then wrote subjects and individual points on them. I took up to my room in the hotel, and separated them into three groups: 1) things I know, 2) things I think I know, and 3) things I need help with. I then stuck those notes in those groups onto my bathroom mirror. You wouldn't believe how much that helped.
We knew going that there were 180 questions, and 70% was considered passing. We did the math, and wrote that 126 correct answers passed. After we took the test, and before time was up, we each counted the number of questions we knew we got right, as well as the number we thought we got right. IIRC, I counted around 160 or so, so I pretty knew I passed. A couple of weeks later it was confirmed.
Good luck with the test, my email's in my profile if you need any more advice, or if you're looking for my thoughts and experiences about my 21 years doing this stuff, let me know.
