Ryanair And Fog

Fri Dec 02, 2005 8:15 am

I've read about fog and Ryanair in previous topics; I planned a trip to Glasgow (on Jan. 6th) and I'm a bit concerned about diversions/canceled flights.

Anyone has some information about possible fog problems in Glasgow/Prestwick and any alternative airport I could be diverted to?

Thx. in advance.

ABZ might be an alternative, we have a daily flight from DUB.

You could be diverted to Glasgow (GLA), Edinburgh (EDI) or maybe they may decide to go to an airport in Ireland maybe Belfast (BFS) or Dublin (DUB).

Thanks
Mike

P.S. There isn't a lot of fog in PIK, or the general GLA area for you to be worried about. I don't think there has been any GLA or PIK fog diversions in a while.

You really shouldn't have to worry about fog at PIK as apparently due to it's geographical position it manages to be virtually fog free.

Don't worry to much about fog at Prestwick as over the years we don't get very much of it. It is usually blowing gales and raining, that tends to keep the fog away. If a diversion was necessary you would normally go to Glasgow. I would expect any problems regarding fog to be at the Milan end,

I hope the weather is all right as I am flying out the same day. Have a good time in Scotland.

Thanks for your replies!

Fog in my area is always a problem in this season, but it can also be a great flying experience when you see from 8.000 ft. all the northern Italy covered by this uniform layer of clouds from which only mountains and hilltops emerge.
