TK A330 : When Will It Fly?

Sun Dec 04, 2005 3:16 pm

I was wondering if anyone has any information on the Turkish Airlines A330. It's now early December and they said it would fly October 29th or something like that. I really want to see pictures of it flying and I want to see the new cabin design. Is the delay all because of a strike?

Dunno, but I wonder if it will be in the new colour scheme that TC-JGG is wearing?

The schedule for delivery is out.

TC-JNA and TC-JNB will be delivered to THY on Tuesday Dec 13th.

TC-JPA (the first one of the A320s ordered) will also be delivered that same day.

A new 738 will be delivered on Dec 9th.

Selam Robcol99, I just got that information too, also heard that TK's CEO is going to Seattle for the delivery ceremony of the 738.
Anybody know when TK is flying the A330 to JFK(still ETOPS issues?) It was supposed to fly on Oct 29 before the seat manufacturer messed up the delivery in the tune of 2 months.
Also are 738's coming with winglets?
Thanks

The 738s will receive winglets later in Istanbul. THY will decide the number of aircraft that these winglets will be applied later during the year.

It depends on the routes that the 738s will be used.

No idea when THY will be ETOPS certified.

I didn't know TK Technic was doing the winglet conversion cool.

You know that has been going on for a while and I can't believe TK is taking this long to address the issue. Especially now that ETOPS became a very public word, thanks to prime minister's A319 visiting NZ, the media could make this ugly for TK.
