Easy: BA Concorde from LHR to JFK. Anything else is just too slow and inelegant.

I'll go with Stretch 8 on this one. Concorde all the way. If not Concorde, Continental 777 EWR-LGW or BA 744 JFK-LHR.

Fly out of Newark Int'l Airport (EWR), and into London Heathrow Int'l Airport (LHR)

And fly Continental Airlines

for leisure travellers, you can try Icelandair.
Departs LHR at 13:00 and arrives @ JFK at 18:00 with a brief connection in Iceland (Keflavik)
Good service, nice food, B-757's
and unbeatable prices ...

I'm pretty sure Continental doesn't fly into Heathrow.

LHR is the best airport to fly into though, so your choices are:
AA (Airbus 300, 767-200, 767-300)
UA (767-300)
BA (concorde, 747-400, 747-200 ?)
Virgin (747-400, A340)

If you don't have the $$$ for the Concorde, I'd take a 747-400. I hear great things about Virgin.

I'm going to london this summer. after looking at many airlines my family has decided to take the fokker f-100 up to chicago with american Island, from okc. and then with british airways over to london. it was the cheapest we could find.

A little off topic. But seeing that I see UA and AA 777s at Heathrow and obviously BAs also, don't they use these to New York? If not where in the US?

AA uses the 777 from DFW and ORD to LHR. Out of JFK, they use the A300-600R (my dad went on that) and 767-300ER. Also, United flies 777s to LHR from EWR, LAX, ORD and SFO. From JFK, United uses the 767-300ER on JFK-LHR.

Actually TWA902...

American does not fly from DFW to LHR, they fly from DFW to Gatwick with a 777 and a 767-300. AA flies to LHR with 777s from ORD, LAX, and MIA.

No, Continental does NOT fly to LHR, only LGW and I think Manchester in the UK. They have a close link with Virgin so it could be a codeshare if a CO flight is scheduled from/to LHR.

Heathrow is closer to central London and offers greater frequencies on four airlines that are allowed to fly to the US from LHR (BA, Virgin, American, and United). I
would avoid American Airlines (smaller aircraft like the
767-300 or worse, the Airbus A300-600). United
is slightly better but they only fly the 777 from LHR
to Newark. I would go with Virgin Atlantic. Excellent,
dependable service. New aircraft. Very reliable and
great service, even in Economy. If you can fly out
of Gatwick, then try Continental to Newark. The
morning flight is on a 777. Excellent service and a
world class airline, much better than any of its US

Depends want you want, if you like to cross the atlantic fast I would recommend the concorde, 2H52min record time.......JFK - LHR, if you don't have the money use either VS or BA.

Forget BA...

Fly LHR-EWR on UAL 777

I've heard Virgin is quite good... but no 777
