Could be the one which bumped into KL 747 with its port winglet a few days ago?

The winglet was probably damaged and placed on the Component Deviation List (CDL). Components that are not flight-critical may be missing from the a/c in certain situations. Many times this will require operational limitations, such as speed limitations, depending on the component. The A330 can have one winglet on CDL.

A NW A333 had a similar incident some months ago, could also be that one. I'm not sure if they've fixed that one yet, but maybe not given the maintenance issues recently.

I have seen a few of these before and I like the look of the bus without the winglet better. Maybe this one was a hybrid to keep both winglet lovers and haters happy.

The flight had to leave before the mechanics could figure out how to get it back on.  duck

- Reduce the takeoff and approach climb performance limiting weight by 2.5%
- Reduce the one engine inoperative ceiling by 250ft
- Increase fuel burn by 1%
