Farthest 767 From Home

Tue Dec 06, 2005 10:47 pm

El Al's 767-200ER's fly to LAX via YYZ, that's 7964 mi away from home. Any other airline flying a 767-200 so far from home?

didn't/don't Britannia/Thomsonfly fly their 767s to Sydney? LGW-DXB-HKG-SYD, giving a total distance of 10141nm, or 18781km according to a Great Circle Mapper

Someone mentioned they saw a AC 767 in HKG.

But the farthest for a AC 767 has to be YVR-SYD via HNL

they also used to fly LGW-AUH-BTH-CNS-AKL which was 10805 nm or 20012 km - can't remember whether they were -200s though

Sorry. AC uses B767-300ER on this route, not a -200 series.
You can't get there from here.

They used to use the 763 on that route for capacity reasons. Some went via AUH or BAH as well.

Bit of a nightmare with BY's crush-them-in config on the 767!

yes , but they used to give away the seats ex AKL on the first couple of flights of the season to backload them - would you believe I once sold an AKL-LGW o/w to a client for NZD 299 - at the time the NZD ( or "South Pacific Peso"  Smile ) was in a very sad state - so this was about GBP100 to travel 20000 km - even travelling in sardine class that was a bargain .

EgyptAir used to fly CAI-JFK-LAX, which included that flight that went down in the Atlantic.

Ethiopian also operated 767s on charter for the UN to East Timor a few years back at the height of the area's peace keeping missions.

The farthest from my home is BOG-MAD on AV, which flies a 767-200ER on the route every day.

5X (UPS) flies a 767-300PF around the world. So if home is SDF the flight would be farthest from home when it's on the other side of the earth, say in BKK. That's 8824 mi from home.

They're registered differently to QF's other 763's - the ex-BA aircraft all have registrations starting with VH-ZX*..... but not with BA regos, and they're in full QF livery.

Main distinguishing feature are their RR engines as opposed to QF's GE...
