Lufthansa 747-400's With New First Class Product!

Wed Dec 07, 2005 7:17 am

Hello, Does Lufthansa have any of their 747's equipped with the new first class product yet? I believe the transformation was supposed to be completed by 2006, but I have yet to see a picture of a 747 with the new first class. Are there any pictures? Thanks

To my knowledge, LH hasn't changed their First Class, only added some service levels (limousine transfers, dedicated terminal areas, etc.). LH does have 744s with their new Business class, though the lack of popularity of the seats has made them rethink it.

LH still has the paired seats on the upper deck. Same as on the A340s. Have not heard of LH going to suites, unless they are earmarked for the A388s.

The LH seats may be paired, but they are still fully flat pod-type seats.

People call the similar AA seats "coffin seats" - LH's seats are not pod-type as you are in a pairing with a devider between rows, but not between seats next to eachother. Pod-type seats suggest individual seats like BA, AA flagship suites, JL and NH's new seats, etc. Although they are comfortable, LH's F seats are definitely of an older generation.
