Brno Turany (BRQ) In The Future

Wed Dec 07, 2005 11:28 pm

I heard that BRQ will break away of its current limitation in scheduled flights, and as of December 12 it will be open to all airlines and be an official international airport. If this is true, which airlines would be interested in BRQ, and what new routes would be created?

Thanks, DeltaWings

Currently there are following flights from BRQ except charters:

1x daily STN-BRQ-STN on ryanair

2x daily except SA,SU MUC-BRQ-MUC with Cirrus Airlines (codeshare partner of LH)

and on DEC 12, 2005

CSA Czech Airlines will start flying PRG-BRQ-PRG 2x daily except the weekends when there will be 1x day.

BRQ is already operated by Ryanair for some months from STN. 12DEC will start regular operation of CSA 2 daily from PRG. Another highlight is opening of new terminal planned in JUN06, hope for better future of BRQ.

anyone have an idea, which airlines would be interested in BRQ after the opening of the new terminal?
could there be another ZRH-BRQ route in future, like back in the early nintees with Air Engiadina?

According to Czech Airlines' timetable the flight duration is 45 minutes, but again the real flight time I would guess would be around 35 mins.
