Did I read that right...they want to add TWO MORE ATC towers? Interesting....I know the expansion called for one new one, but are these two in addition to that?

The new outer north and south runways require new north and south supplementary towers. Construction on the north town begins in 2006. The new south tower is many years down the road in Phase Two of the O'Hare Modernization Program.

So I'm assuming the current tower will remain the "main" tower, while these north and south towers will control mainly arrivals on the outer runways?

ORD North Tower will work the north runways, ORD South Tower will work the south runways, and the current tower will serve as a back-up down the road.
