<< Aeromexico Announces Three New Nonstop Routes to Mexico from the Ontario International Airport

Aeromexico, Mexico’s largest airline, announced the scheduling of three new nonstop routes from Ontario, Calif. to Aguascalientes, El Bajio/Leon, and Morelia to begin in 2006. The new flights will offer Inland Empire counties more convenient choices when traveling to Mexico. Currently, Aeromexico offers daily nonstop flights to Guadalajara and weekend service to Los Cabos and Mexico City. In total, Aeromexico will be offering 22 weekly flights for Ontario-area travelers to six metropolitan destinations in Mexico. “Ontario’s airport serves a significant population of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans living in the Inland Empire counties of Southern California,” said Jose Kuri, Sr. Vice President of the U.S. Division for Aeromexico. “These new flights from Ontario will provide greater convenience and more choices for those travelers when visiting family and friends in Mexico.”

The California to Mexico market is getting full. How many Californian routes does this make for Mexican carriers?

Don't know about that, but they are most certainly making things difficult for start-up InterJet on the TLC-MTY and TLC-CUN markets; price war started together with InterJet's first operation.

Interesting, the ONT-AGU flight will be competing directly with their own LAX-AGU service. Regarding BJX and MLM, they are definitely after 6A's and MX's customers that now depart from LAX.
