It looks like UA will be going head to head against Alaska on this route. There are a lot of people from San Francisco and other parts of Northern California that go to Palm Springs. AS operates mainline jets which are nicer, but it is good to see UA returning to this route. It always seemed like a route that they should serve. I remember the days when UA had multiple 737s a day into PSP.

At least it is not an Embraer 120. CRJs aren't wonderful, but they are better than the aging props that are as load as can be. UA use to fly this route with the EMB 120s and that flight was a little on the long side. The speed of the jet will improve the flight.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

And competing with Alaska's mainline equipment already on the route.

It's nice to see UA has added more flights into PSP. When I worked in PSP back in the ealry 90's. We had mainline to SFO. Then it was 146's, then EMB-120's. We had 5 daily EMB-120's before I transferred out of PSP. It was a 1 hour 45 minute flight. Way too long. It will be hard to compete against AS with their 3 mainline flights.

I think UAX operates all their flights from gate 3. So even their RJ's don't use the new jetways.

Is that a mistake? How can the plane arrive at 7:21pm and leave at 7:15pm?

Its probably not the same equipment...probably one of the RJs from DEN that swaps with the one from SFO.
