USAirways Website Itinerary Access

Is it possible in any way to access an itinerary that was NOT booked on USair's website? Near as I can tell, there's simply no way.

They've farmed access to all itineraries out to some 3rd party website, and that particular company apparently won't allow access to anything they didn't book.

This, of course, makes it utterly impossible to change seats, flights, etc. online.

You have to go back to your original travel agent who booked the thing to get anything changed.

every other US Major allows these functions (yes, even the new guys with the white "A" on a teal background), yet USairways does not?

What gives?

As someone who does a lot of travel with US through my company, and thus always books through our travel agent, I also find this VERY frustrating.

Assuming your travel agent gave you a 6-letter reservation identifier, there most certainly is a way. On the home page, underneath the reservations section there are multiple links, one of which says "Itinerary/Receipt." If you click this link, all you have to enter is your locator and last name, and it should come back with any reservation in the USAirways system.


edit: However, in rereading your post, i see that changing your flight can't be done online. I haven't found a way to do this online either, and am also frustrated by it.

I have never been able to use this method with USairways, particularly when booking on codeshare flights with United, either online or through a ticket counter. I spoke the a US ticket agent about it and they said the system is a total mess and just to be happy my ticket is valid.

They do have a look-but-don't-touch funtionality.. and as I was to find out this last weekend, the only time they'll allow you to change your seats is during the online check-in process. Mind you - do NOT try to call one of their reservations centers if the seating option fails during the booking process. I had someone from one of their reservations centers tell me that the best seat she could get me close to the front was good because it was "near a window and near an aisle". First I had to drag out of her that she was talking about a middle seat.. and then it took a good 5 minutes to explain to her that I didn't want a middle seat and would take something in the back. The frustration level assoicated with their website is incredibly high at most times.
