Don't count on it even though UPS and FedEx both have good sized orders.

I think that is probably accurate.

I might be tempted to add Chicago as a possible.

I would add Miami to this list as LH will be operating one there if memory serves me, coupled with the Airbus training center located there...

It should not be a question of 'if' but 'when.' Hopefully LAX can get itself together in time so when the A380 is ready to come visit they will be able to handle it. A lot of articles have said we won't be ready, but who knows.

What is the point of Airbus sending the A380 (publicity purposes of course) to the USA when they have no orders from any of the American/Canadian passenger operators, I think the only time Airbus will send one is when the first freighter is built.

Airport proving runs, maybe? I guess, SQ wants to know whether there will be any unforeseen problems at SFO, LAX before they send their WhaleJets to these airports, don't you think so? Same for QF and LAX.

I just had this picture in front of my eyes, an A380 with big letters on the fuselage saying "Boeing is a sissy!" doing a short touch-down there. Boeing workers with hay forks, pickaxes and rocks, stand along the runway and yell like mad at it...

Are the 3 Boeing airfields in Seattle owned by Boeing?
If not, is there anything to stop Airbus pulling off such a stunt?
I don't think Airbus or Boeing would stoop so low but you never know.
I am sure that Boeing could fly to Toulouse, if memory serves me correct Airbus do not own Toulouse Airport. I think they might have sole use of one of the runways.

Easy, to attract new customers. Only too bad for Airbus, and us spotters, that no US airline can afford them right now. Except maybe WN or B6, we'll have to keep dreaming on that one.

I agree with ER757. Of all the airports in the United States with A-380 service, I'd bet ANC will be getting the most by a large margin.

That is a rumor. It appeared in the Gellman Report, financed by Boeing, but no one has ever confirmed it.

Just like the rumors of Boeing selling the 767 to ANA for $60 million a frame have not been confirmed.

Yup, Sure is...UPS brings in 747s into ONT, so I guess there is a possibility of the A380 stopping on by for lunch!

Don't turn it into B vs A.

I was just saying that if these strong rumors were true, it is possible that US carriers could have ordered the A380 if they wanted.

I think its safe to say that Canada will not see the 380 for quite some time (if at all)! Too bad, but its an extremely ugly plane anyways.

I remember driving by a town called Montreal one summer, I think it was in Wisconsin or Michigan. Or maybe the town was called Ottawa, or it was a river called Montreal River, something of this kind, can't remember... Skeptical about whether that place has an airport though!

AF will likely fly to MIA with the 380. And also to YUL, Quebec, Canada.
And I would also expect VS to fly it to LAX and/or JFK, at least for a short time, for prestige...

Quebec would need to leave the confederation for this to happen!

Probably because it would be better to test the airport early, while any issues could be fixed. It wouldn't look good for an airline to announce A380 service to LAX or JFK only to find on the proving runs it didn't "work right."

It should visit MCO sometime. The Airport is A380-ready and Virgin will be the airline that will bring these monsters in regularly. Currently there are about 4 daily flights that arrive in the afternoon, all with 747s.
