Who Is Flying The 777-300ER?

Fri Dec 16, 2005 2:14 am

According to Boeing's web site they have delivered 28 773ERs. Many to ILFC and GE. My question is who are they leasing them to (besides Air France)?

SQ also has around 13 on order since 2004, though they have yet to take deliveries.

I thought they bought 19 of them?

Cathay Pacific will also be flying them with their huge 777 order...

I think Air New Zealand will be flying the 773ER as well.

"Cathay Pacific Airways said that it will acquire 16 new 777-300ER jetliners to be delivered between September 2007 and July 2010. Twelve of the 777-300ERs will be purchased from Boeing and four will be obtained through operating leases from International Lease Finance Corporation. Cathay Pacific Airways also said it has secured purchase rights for 20 additional Boeing 777-300ERs."

Actually, I think ANZ has the 773ER as an option...not sure if they firmed them up.

But, don't forget Air Canada might fly the 773ER as well:

"As with the previous agreement, announced in April, the new contract with Air Canada includes firm orders for 18 777s, plus purchase rights for 18 more, in a yet-to-be-determined mix of the 777 family's newest models: the 777-300ER, the 777-200LR Worldliner (the longest-range airplane in the world) and the newly announced 777 Freighter. Air Canada 's new 777 deliveries will begin in 2007."

All you have to do is fly to JFK or IAD from GRU or GIG the long way!  Smile You can fly out of either GRU or GIG on AF flights 455 or 443, respectively, to CDG and then connect to AF flight 28 to IAD at 10:15 AM or AF flight 6 to JFK at 1:15 PM! Maybe not the most economical sense, but you get to fly it!  Smile

I hate to keep posting, but....

I just remembered that Jet Airways will also fly the 773ER.

And what about Air India? Anybody know?

The Indian Cabinet approved the AI purchase today subject to one nore round of price negotiations (they want an even sweeter deal I guess). After that the order should be firmed up. February is my guess.

Their firm 18 777 order breakdown consists of 3 773ERs, 13 772LRs, and 2 777LRFs.
So they will definitely be flying them, I can't wait! Big grin

Add AC, 9W, AI, and if I'm not mistaken, QR has signed for them (but not finalised)...however, none of these carriers are flying them at this present time..

There is only ONE new livery.
The "bare metal" is a test and that too only for the 767-200s.

Air India to get deliver Q1 07 (777-337ER), 9W to get deliver Q1 07 (777-35RER). Third country after Japan and UAE to have multiple 777-300ER operators.
And none in the country of its manufacture.

maybe we can get UA to get some... Smile

there aren't too many United States carriers which would need it...

I don't think we'll see 777's in NW colours anytime soon, if ever.. no

Actually it would make sense for UAL to eliminate 744s and replace them with 777-300s

Ouch. I think of this often. I can only think of similar situations with the Boeing 743 and 736 (w/o getting into extreme a/c detail).

I think that they could potentially do up some of the 763's as well in this scheme, depending on how the plane looks underneath the skin. The Airbus' are not able to go naked like this, simply because of the metal composition.

I hazard a guess that this might be the next plane to be scrapped if it doesn't work out. At this point in the 762's life, it wouldn't be worth repainting her!!!

It wouldn't make a bit of sense Baha. That is taking an established aircraft in the fleet and replacing it with one that holds 70-80 fewer passengers, has a higher CASM than the 744 and a non-standard engine type to the other 777s in United's fleet. A 748/787 mix would be a more practical choice, but only after UA gets their house in order.

You should get a good view from there, you can also see the tip of the THS from the back Eco seats. You're right at the back - the last row being 48.

If you want to try and get a front row; try 35 A/L or 18 A/L (not sure if you get a view on those seats)
