New A380 Pics

Fri Dec 16, 2005 5:08 pm

Well I don't know how many off you have seen this, but there is a new image of the A380.

It is MSN006 F-WWSC

http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.php?id=422951

Still no where near finished yet.

Oh goody, another A380 picture.

Sorry to sound critical or negative, but are we going to see a new thread created every single time a new photo of the A380 is released? Genuine question.

Personaly, I think its a bit much

But still there are other pointless threads on the forums.

Although irrelevant to this particular thread, I do agree.

But every single time a new picture of the A380 is available, someone gets excited and posts a "WOW look at this" thread or "Incredible that"

The A380 is a fine craft to be sure, but lets not go into overkill!

If you don't like a thread; why click on it, read it, reply to it, and most likely check it again for replies? Plenty of threads going at once.

On topic: I like the Rudolph nose, one thing I don't like about the A340 and A380 is how messy the landing gear looks, 747 as well I guess for that matter. The 777 is clutter free in that department.

And just as you want to express your opinion, a person can express their want to start a thread on a picture. Just like I may choose to ignore your comments you can ignore this topic.

Although I rarely find myself ignoring your comments cause I'm usually in agreement; maybe just not on this occasion.

But we must excercise a level of common sense. Whats the logic in having many threads on the same subject when one or two will do fine, just add to them when something new appears. That's perhaps a better idea, again IMO.

Common sense is the point, how many times have we tried to get people to stop posting "NWA DC-9" or "Dirty AF planes" etc. No matter how hard you try its going to happen. As many topics there are saying "what's up with the NWA DC-9's" there are 2x as many topics about "No more repeating posts". I just decide to ignore them because its as hopeless as the war on drugs.

Maybe if the thread was about something relating to SQ's A380's more than just a plain photo of one then GARPD wouldn't have an issue. I can see where he is coming from but I also do appreciate seeing this photo.

Maybe something like the Peter Max thread should be implemented in the future.

You have a point there and I agree. Nowadays the mods simply "trim" these useless threads or merge them. Perhaps I should request similar treatment for this subject in stead

I just have a question that is in my mind for a while:
Why is that the new Airbus models always look with different kind of greens? I mean, isn´t the fuselage made of the same material? Why do they paint the different sections in different green tones ?

The different greens indicate where the parts came from. Each part thats a different colour came from a different factory, so you can identify just how diverse an A380 actually is (you could probably do this with most modern aircraft if there were any pictures).

The green is a protective coating on the aluminium.

I would start another threat..like " Why Airbus made an aircraft with such a horrible nose "

If you look at the bird without seeing the nose, it is certainly interesting, beautiful, but that nose...Just makes me hate the plane.

On a positive note I have allways been excited to see these beautiful super jumbos roll out. To me any new A380 rolling out is news. I personally love it when people share with us new photos of the A380. Especially since I have reading about the the A380 since 1997.

i expect to be checking out all threads that are relatd to new 380's untill aircraft MSN 025..

The question for everyone is how long will it be untill a new A380 rolling out would not be news anymore?

I always wondered why the folks at Airbus chose to keep such a low ground clearance w.r.t the landing gear. The nosewheel reminds me of the 737.

The A380 is not the best looking plane in the world and this photo doesn't help much to reverse that  Smile

Since we are talking about the A380 I have a question:

Can anyone clarify the exact date the first A380 will be delivered?

Secondly I would also be interested to know when EK are going to get their first A380's.

The A380 looks great in the sky, and guess what that is where it will be used and make his money for the airlines, not for some A Net spotters, who only want to see the very exiting 777  Wink

Thanks for the pic! Personally, I enjoy looking at them. Also, this one really shows how the main gear retraction really works.

Based on this pic, though, I think the Airbus is taking their A380 weight reduction measures a little too far.  Wink

Either that, or SQ drove too hard a bargain, and got an A380 with a few pieces missing... Lower wings panels? Well, that costs extra...
A good landing is one you can walk away from. A great landing is if the aircraft can be flown again.

Myt332 was making an objective statement. Not liking what someone did/said does not give you the right to generalize. Unless you ask questions, you have no idea what their intent was at doing what they do.

But the time I saw this pictuce, the first thing that hit me was the Singapore tail fin and so I wondered, could this be the first plane, the first one for revenue? This airplane could be more significant than the others. I remember that picture of the tail being shipped in a Beluga, which was like back in March/April 05 maybe. Took this long to get this far, though it probably will not fly until February 2006, maybe.

AirbusA340 really should have had the title of his post to be more descriptive, like:

"New A380 Pics: first SQ plane, unfinished"

to specifically attract the right 'customers' to his/her thread. Making it vague invited GARPD somewhat nitpicky in my view Big grin
