UA/US Imaginary Interim Livery

Thu May 25, 2000 3:03 pm

For your amusement: an imaginary rendering of what a UA A330 might look like in an interim livery...

By The Way...

BTW, a previous discussion of United's new font prompted me to contact UAL's PR dept from the web site. The response indicated that they're "revamping" the airline's image, starting with everything the passenger makes contact with first, and lastly changing the livery. She estimated the aircraft livery change within 5-6 years. I'm sure it will be sooner now, though; a new UAL livery will probably emerge from the merger.

Oh yeah, nice job, Puck! Very cool...

Looks great! If these two basket case airlines really do merge, then UA
should adopt the US Airways new livery, launched in 1997, and utilize the
boldface U N I T E D titles it is now using at airports, etc....The current UA
livery, while a major improvement over the older, blue/orange/brown one
is downright ugly for an airline with such an international stature.

Great job! While I do like UA's current livery, I like US's as well. UA's new block lettering looks very nice in white on the dark background in your picture.
