Fate Of "Business Air"

Thu Dec 22, 2005 9:59 pm

I first mentioned this in a response on another thread, but thought it deserved its own. Back in July 1997, during the BA "work action" I flew with Business Air from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. Was coming on Qantas from Darwin when were were told of the strike. Anyway, BA took care of us, and got us to Aberdeen. Cant remember how I got to Edinburgh (CRS). As I recall, the Business Air flight carried a Lufthansa flight number. Wierd. I cant find any mention of Business Air. Are they still flying? Absorbed by somone.
Thanks

Dave

Got taken over by British Midland Commuter. Now BMI Regional. Believe the Saab 340s now flying for Loganair

Business air no longer flies, as far as I was aware it was absorbed by British Midland some time ago (correct me if i'm wrong).

They flew mainly saab 340 aircraft but had an agreement with Lufthansa, I remember they had Bae 146 aircraft for a whilst operating flights from LCY.

They also did EDI-Dundee too, using the 'II' flight prefix, and LCY-DIssledorf, I think on the 146.
