Gill Airways To Restart Ops

Thu Dec 22, 2005 10:05 pm

Apparantly the formers of Gill airways have resigned a franchise contract with Air France / KLM to start AT42 services from smaller UK and Irish airports to AMS, CDG and NCE... At a later stage, the AOC may be used for a re-entry of KLM/AF into the UK market.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

No mickey sevenair. I'm hearing that the new Gill will b. using (paid for, and not airbus freebies Gkirk) AT42's from small UK airports in the North and West of the UK on routes to AMS and CDG where KL and / or AF cant make money on. BLK, INV, NCL, DND, NWI, MME, HUY, etc Larger UK airports such as EDI, ABZ, LBA will be jet served to both EDI and CDG.

I would love to see Gill back also, serving
NCL-DUB (Offering competition against Ryanair)
NCL-LTN
NCL-JER-GCI
NCL-NWI
NCL-BHD

Has anymore been heard about this. Particulalry interested as the ATR would be perfect for a HUY-CDG route. Low operating costs and the benefits of worldwide connections at CDG to complement the existing KLM Cityhopper service to AMS
