A 1900D is not COex. It's COcon. Just to be clear.

Any idea which Continental Connection carrier this is? There are a bunch.

NTSB said they could move it--should be off the runway pretty soon... Air carriers are running off 13 now...

See, I knew American Eagle was first class all along!

How in the heck could they land that thing with no nosegear without shutting down the engines?
This isn't where I parked my car...

Only guess looking at www.fly.faa.gov would be FLL ("General Departure Delays: Due to DISABLED AIRCRAFT, traffic is experiencing Gate Hold and Taxi delays between 15 minutes and 29 minutes in length and decreasing.") but no idea... I flipped to CNN and they were talking about something completely different.

yea, I forgot about Commutair switching over a year or so back. So if it's in FLL that would be Gulfstream

It was at FLL...all are ok, but this is just another accident/incident in SOFL this week, so this is getting a little more coverage than usual.

Planes went from 27R to 13 and are now on 9L!

D'oooh.. Trust me, things are pretty crazy where I am. We don't see Commutair or really have any dealings with them, so I guess time has flown.

Did the gear collapse upon landing or did it just not extend?

and now CO

as was said earlier in the posts ia B1900, NOT a Continental Airlines plane but a CO Connection company. Continental Airlines is all Boeing jets, Jet Express is all Embraer jets.....How about not acting like the media posting incorrect or incomplete information.

Go onto the the TV station link and watch the report...

They called it a JET.. which it's not.
They called it a BEECH 19... which it is not.
They said it CRASH LANDED...which it did not.

hmmm... the reporter on that video clip seems to think that there could possibly be something wrong with the nose gear, since its facing down and everything? ......I love the media Big grin

I know it is not Continental mainline, but the flying public couldn't give a shit. All they see is CO colors on the plane and the name Continental is on it, so they see it as Continental. I am smart enough to know the difference, flying public does not.

Screw the engines, save your ass!

A landing gear issue isn't that big of a deal, unless you shutdown two good engines early and Vmc roll it into the runway when one engine holds on longer than it should.....

Me...I'd just try to make it as soft as possible and stay off the problem gear as long as possible, then bring it down to the runway, no need to shutdown the engines. They will probably need a teardown anyways....

Sorry, I had an instructor heart attack....
