What a sad way for this beautiful old machine to go. She deserves better than that  Sad

Well, sometimes it's better than years of suffering in the desert.

But burning on the tarmac is so pitiful. Better to light it off in flight and let it go in a final blaze o' glory.

Let the pilots for those final flight be the guys going on forced retirement but who don't want to - they don't play golf and hate their wives.

Which airline was this/how many 707s do they have? Any pictures of this plane anywhere? The tail looks a bit similar to Koda Air cargo.

Airports in Istambul must be one of the most interesting nowadays with Russian and even 707 traffic, wow

As a old 707 crew chief it hurts to see pictures of her in a death thro. At least it looks like there are some usable parts on the wings to keep other 707's in the air.
I would help you but it is not in the contract

The only time there is too much fuel onboard, is when you're on fire!
