All Boeing And All Airbus Fleets

Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:52 am

This is not a Boeing vs. Airbus thread. This thread is to discuss which airlines intend to go all-Boeing or all-Airbus.

I know that Delta and Continental will likely stick with Boeing as they are now. American also intends on going all-Boeing after the retirement of the A300s. I have heard ANA plans to go all-Boeing in the long term.

As for all-Airbus, I know that US Airways intends on going all-Airbus.

Until there is a replacement for the 757s we won't be an all Airbus fleet. Also there is still the outside chance that we may get the 787 if the A350 falls short of what is advertised.

I do not think B or A will ever build all the ac's airlines are asking (need) for,
There are so many factors involved of choosing the right ac for that route and
market because it does not mean that if it works for LH it will work for BA.

Cheers,

Didn't CO and AA commit to all Boeing for future purchases, or did those agreements end?

Aren't some of the Middle East carriers all Airbus?

AI may go all Boeing when they get their 777's and 787's....the current (owned) fleet of 744's will probably continue flying and the LCC arm AI Express will have a fleet of 738's....

The A310 fleet is already due for retirement and should be out by 2010...

So, by roughly 2010 or so, AI will be all Boeing...

IC, on the other hand, will probably end up as all Airbus (at least their jet fleet), with a fleet of 320/319/321's.....the ATR's will be the only non Airbus aircraft in their fleet....

same here!! AI is clear about being all Boeing once they retire their A310s. Similarly IC shall be all Airbus once their last remaining B732s manage to reach Mojave.

That's right, El AL is only Boeing partially because of politics (if not only), but it's was never with any MD or other too? (may be I'm wrong?).

Concerning that real politics avionics facts, the only possibility is that the Dassault familly take a part of EADS or Airbus cake (they are full of money actually) and may be the Israelien gouvernement will authorised to buy some Airbus in memory of Marcel Dassault who have done so much to help Israel in the past.

In Mexico, we have the following examples:

ZE: All-Boeing 737 fleet.
6A: All-Boeing fleet.
VW: All-ATR 42-500 fleet.
JR: All-Douglas DC9 fleet.
IJ: All-Airbus A320 fleet.
QA: All-Fokker 100 fleet.

AM: It is moving to an all-Boeing fleet. Although it will keep several MD-80's for the next few years, at some point AM will only operate 737NG's and 777's, with the 787 as a possibility.

MX: It is moving to an all-Airbus fleet. Although it is operating a few 752's and a 763ER at the moment, expect those to be retired in the coming months. MX already has A318's, A319's, A320's and there is speculation that the A321 could be considered for some routes out of CUN. As for the widebodies, a separate thread discusses how MX wants to have one or two A332's in 2006 and place an order for A340's soon too (not sure if it will be A343E's, A345's or A346's, although the A345 makes most sense if MX seriously wants to fly to Asia).

As for the new carriers, GOL México will have an all-Boeing 737NG fleet and Volaris will have an all Airbus A32X fleet.
Next flights: MEX-LAX AM 738, LAX-PVG DL 77L, SHA-PEK CA 789, PEK-PVG CA A332, PVG-ORD MU 77W, ORD-MEX AM 738

Lion Air: MD-80, MD-90, 734.

Batavia Air: 732, 734, but their first A319 is coming.

Ethiopian's jet fleet is all boeing. ET only flew Boeing jets to this day. They almost got a 343 but that deal fell through last minute. That was airbuse's chance to enter ET's market.

Hmmmm.. interesting. While I like the B-717,(not the original 707 like tanker with the same number) even it is not a Boeing as it was designed and flight tested by MD. I think it even possibly had some delivered before the Boeing take over a few years back, but I'm not sure about that part.

This may be a big wildcard bet but.....

LH may be headed toward all Airbus as the bulk of its A380s arrive. They may be room for its 744s over the next 5 years but not for the long term and LH may be just pulling Boeing's ear regarding the 747-8.

LH seems focused on the 346 and has shown no interest in 777s.

The 737 won't remain in LH's fleet much longer with more being bumped out by the 320 family.

CO is all Boeing, and I don't see them changing that anytime soon.

They may very well mainline E175s if they can't change their scope clause. We'll see what happens when they farm out part of their regional affiliations. They'd likely prefer to put E170 or E175s into COex colors, but they may be forced out of that plan. Either way, there is profitable room for a 70 seat 2 class jet at CO serving from EWR as far as the rockies and IAH to the west coast.

As long as they have the B-735's, this is not likely to happen soon. Never say never, but CO's mindframe is most likely bent toward the type of operation with what they already have in the fleet.
