CO 767 In AUS

Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:07 am

Just dropped my mom off at the airport and saw a Continental 767-400 sitting at one of their gates. Anybody know why it's there?

She is the charter flight for the UT Longhorns to the Rose Bowl, stated above.

I'll take my camera to work today, and walk out on the ramp and see if I can get some snaps of her!  Smile

Who gets to sit in F? I assume in Y, some of the line men and such can take both A and B with the armrest up. Even at 95 scholarship athletes and all the staff etc., the plane should be plenty big enough.

My understanding, as it was reported on ESPN this morning, is that many UT players are electing to find their own way to Pasadena, as they actually will gain cash equivalent to something like the price of a coach ticket AUS-LAX by not going on the team charter, and that many players would rather have the money than go as a team...

I saw that report as well. I am sure the 764 was for boosters and alums.

yes, no players on board the airplane................alumni, presidents, etc. etc.
players were given a large large amount of cash to find their own way to Pasadena. how can this not be illegal for college athletes???

It is illegal for MOST universities but UT seems to play under a different set of NCAA rules.

The list of scandals coming out of Austin never seems to catch the attention of anyone at the NCAA... horrible graduation rates, playing criminals, armed assaults on 6th street involving starting football players, and that's just this season!
