Bad Weather In NYC 12/29/05

Fri Dec 30, 2005 6:07 am

I live on Long Island's South Shore (also home to JFK) and the weather is absolutely horrible. It's very foggy and I there's very little visibility.

Does anyone know of the conditions at the airports and any delays/cancellations/diversions because of the weather?

Quoting JetBluefan1 (Thread starter):

Just looked at the RVR page and JFK, LGA, and EWR are all calling RVRs above 6000, so nothing is below minimums, as of when I looked.

There are undoubtedly ATC delay programs in effect, given the reduced acceptance rate of each of the airports. Not an "on-time" day...

Last b6 email I got states:

there is a GDP program in effect @ JFK

Average Arrival delay into JFK is 108 minutes with 25/hr average arrival flights due to only one runway open due to low visibility. Max delay of 187 minutes.

If there is even a drop of liquid in the sky, then you'll have "ATC" issues at "Hotlanta."
