What Would DL Fly From LGA-MCO In 1988?

Sat Dec 31, 2005 11:12 am

Hi,

I am new to the forum so I apologize if this appears to be a dumb question, or wrong forum to post this in. I tried to Google this and I really can't find this out. My first time I flew on an airplane, it was going to MCO from LGA approximately in 1988. If I had to guess, it would been some sort of 737. But I am unsure. What was in Delta's fleet back then? Unfortunately, my parents don't have the boarding pass anymore (my dad collects/keeps everything until my mom makes him throw stuff away).

Thanks

Both books show B727-200 by DL from LGA to MCO in the morning.

Excellent, thanks so much, I do have some reason to believe I flew in November of that year, but it's good to know I was a different type of Boeing now  Smile

I would venture to say a 757 or 727. DL used 767s to CVG,NAS, and ATL, IIRC!

The OAG says 727-200 in the early and late morning trips from LGA. There was a 767 out of EWR in the early afternoon and the Dec book shows a 757 after Dec 15 from LGA.
BN,EA and AA also flew the LGA-MCO route. EA had a morning TriStar.
The other two flew three-holers. There were quite a few trips from NYC to MCO back then as there is now. The airlines and equipment have changed, of course.

I have to look through my old family albums, but from what I remember, the cabin and cockpit does awfully look like this:

Practically all my early memories involve a DL 727 in some way.

I also recall flying on a brand spanking new 767-200 from DFW to MCO and the flight attendants being very excited.

Brings back memories...DL used to fly to NAS, PBI, TPA among other places on MAINLINE...my memories of this is from 1996...ATL, CVG of course...LGA, JFK, EWR, BOS, no ISP or BDL at the time iirc...but the NAS was a tag-along from DFW (flight 1116) and the PBI a tag along from somewhere else. I also remember the TPA flight continued to LAX and SFO! Those were the days!
NEXT FLIGHT: FLL-ATL-HPN on FL

I do remember having the centre aisle, with 3 seats on both sides (6 of us went so we took both sides), we took off from RWY 4. I don't remember seeing where the engines were. So I think its safe to assume it was a 727-200.

Delta retired the 727 from the fleet in April 2003. There's a Delta 727 website at

http://www.l1011.homestead.com/727.html

with a lot of interior and exterior photos of the aircraft.
