Air Force One 707 At LAX In Mid 1990's

Sat Dec 31, 2005 1:14 pm

Just thought I'd share this gem that I discovered. Picture taken circa 1994 from Terminal 1 at LAX.

Great picture. Beautiful ship! However, was this one part of the Presidential fleet? The serial number does not look like it.

Thank you for sharing it, anyway.

MB,

It wasn't, did do duty as AF2 and was used for Congressional leaders and VIP flights but AFAIK it never did duty as AF1

And sadly had it's fateful meeting with the drop hammer at Wichita in 2004

Cheers

Chris

Tail number 27000 is at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley California. You can actually go inside and see the whole aircraft. Very basic on the inside with not too comfortable looking seats.

...and 26000 is at Wright-Paterson AFB in DAY. You can also meander through the cabin of this a/c as well as other aircraft that served as Air Force One at some point.
