No surprises there. KE usually operates to CHC every year seasonally in the summer.

Welcome to a.net Airnz777pilot. I see your wanting to become a pilot. I've got a younger step brother who is currently with the young eagles at WLG and has already clocked up a few thousand flying hours. He wants to join the RNZAF and fly their B757s then fly long haul with NZ.

No they don't. The route is operated seasonally nearly every summer. I think between the months or November and February.

Would be nice to see KE year round at CHC.
Uptil about the late 90s, KE operated three weekly SEL-AKL-CHC services, a mix of MD11/B744s.
The tourist market out of Korea is seasonal, very heavy during the NZ summer months, and quietens during the winter.
However KE might have a change in market strategy if they go year round. They are probably looking at the o NZ-Europe market, and then there is China as well. And Im sure they could market more effectively the southern winter ski destinations in NZ to the outbound Korean/Chinese market.

The Korean Air flights ; Europe-Incheon-New Zealand are not timed very well at the moment for connecting flights between europe and N.Z.
When Asiana used to operate AKL-ICN, their flights were also timed badly to connect onwards to europe so they provided a free nights accomodation in Incheon.
I do not know KE's policy on this though.

Today they operate to AKL daily with 777's and ocassionally a 744.
CHC is seasonal.
KE also used to operate flights to NZ via NAN.

I think they are using 777 on the service to christchurch as i have seen on several occasions a 777 leaving Christchurch in the early evening for the past few weeks.

It is 744s daily from November to March every year, and 777s the rest of the time.
