One can't 'officially' commit to something that does not 'officially' exist. I'm sure what you read was just a rehash of the Emirates annoncement that they intend to order the plane. Orders should be 5 firm and 5 option, with 2 of the option aircraft freighters. I find this last bit very interesting, as Emirates does not currently operate a dedicated freighter at all. At any rate, as soon as the aircraft is 'officially' launched, I'm sure Emirates will sign a contract.

All gave some. Some gave all.
