DL9697 ATL-JAX Charter?

Fri Jan 06, 2006 11:13 am

I flew on DL9697 on January 1, ATL-JAX. There were many Louisville and VA Tech fans aboard...was this an extra section for the bowl game the following day in Jacksonville's Alltel Stadium? Also, anyone know why we parked at gate C11 at JAX instead of one of DL's normal A concourse gates? Thanks.

Because those gates would have been assiged to regular flights.

I'm sure it was additional capacity for the game given the flight number and not really a charter. I flew to Mardi Gras a few years ago on a 9000 series flight and it wasn't a charter.
