International Spring Specials 2006?

Sun Jan 08, 2006 5:04 am

Hi everyone,

I'm getting the travel bug bad again and my spring break is coming up from April 7th-April 17th. I know the airliners haven't posted spring specials yet, but does anyone have any insider info that they'd care to share? Heres the rules for my trip.

Gateway airport SFO (or LAX)
like to go somewhere international, preferably carrbean, South America, Asia, Istanbul, eastern europe, but really whereever is a decent price and a good mix of exotic/adventure travel and relaxing (columbia?)
Price btw 600-800 (is that realistic with gas prices now?--would be willing to shift 800-1,000)
non-stop, international airline if possible
wide-body airline

Looking forward to hearing your responses

best

It's too early to tell where the cheap fares are going to be at for spring break.. the airlines' inventory management haven't released enough fares for sale in the cheap fare bucks. I'd look for stuff in late January or early Febuary, that'd probably be your best bet.

But reguardless, go ahead and start looking now- you never know when you're going to find a good fare.  Wink

You're spring break looks pretty long - 10 days. If you're airport's going to be SFO, you could probably take a UA 777 to NRT non-stop. If you're looking for something more adventurous you could continue on and connect in NRT to another UA 777 or possibly a UA 747 to BKK, SIN, HKG.. anything over there could be fun. It all depends on what kind of trip you're looking for and how far you're willing/wanting to travel.

Just found this for you.. a tad bit pricy right now, but cheaper than other destinations I searched. Prices on this are likely to drop, also.

Itinerary:
Departing: SFO (or LAX- prices are almost identicle from either, but I'll just post the SFO flights anyways)

United Airlines flt. 853
Boeing 747-400
Apr 07 1:42 pm depart SFO
Apr 08 4:30 pm arrive NRT

United Airlines flt. 881
Boeing 747-400
Apr 08 6:25 pm depart NRT
Apr 08 11:05 pm arrive BKK

United Airlines flt. 882
Boeing 747-400
Apr 17 6:50 am depart BKK
Apr 17 3:00 pm arrive NRT

United Airlines flt. 852
Boeing 747-400
Apr 17 4:15 pm depart NRT
Apr 17 9:23 am arrive SFO

Grand Total: $1178.00 USD

Btw- I should've asked you before, what's your ideal budget/price range? That's pretty important too.

Look into AA or CO non stops ORD-DEL and EWR-DEL respectively, on a 777.

Domestic travel? I flew IAD-LAX roundtrip for $184 plus tax and the flight back was on a 777. Can't beat that Smile

Good luck
