Flying YYZ-ORD-NRT-SYD Whats The Flight Plan

Sun Jan 08, 2006 6:28 am

I have a flight with the routing of YYZ-ORD-NRT-SYD coming up in February. I am just wondering what the flight plan will be. Wil I fly uo over Alaska and down or what. Even if you can help with one segment that would be great.

Thanks

fly_yhm

P.S. if this is in the wrong fourm just tell me.

It will approximate this... I also included YYZ-LAX-SYD which is the most efficient routing available to you.

So I will fly over alaska?

I know flying through LAX would have been quicker but Money saving money is more important then time.

From the looks of it, yes. I have seen flights between ORD and NRT with a flight tracking system, and they fly over Alaska. Have a fun trip!

Are you doing a Circle Pacific with Star Alliance? I am doing PHL-SFO-NRT-SIN-SYD-LAX-PHL on UA and SQ also in February. Are you on the same carriers? Leaving from ORD you probably will fly over Alaska. Eventhough they pull the shades down, go the emergency door and look out the window. It is a fantastic view !

Recently when I flew YVR-ICN-SIN we flew over Alaska. However on the return we flew straight across the Pacific. All on SQ772s so I assume the routing is based on prevailing winds.

Enjoy your trip!

Cheers,
Kaz

Why would you look suspicious? People do it all the time. I know I do.

They close the blinds because for half of your flight it'll be bright outside, and they don't want it so that people are woken up by the bright light. You should see sunrise on your flight. You are almost certainly going to fly through Alaska, although I think once in a long while they might flight right under it (i.e. South), but I don't think that's common in the winter.

Yeah, you're probably riding the jetstream flying through Pacific.

I flew ORD-NRT on AA on October 1, 2005. We did indeed go over Alaska, passing just South of Anchorage, as you can see in this picture:
