Fuel Truck Hits UA 737

Tue Jan 10, 2006 2:37 am

In an article just released by CNN, a United Airlines 737 was hit by a fuel truck today in Boise, ID:

Luckily, there were no injuries, but damage looks to be extensive.

My first thought was, oh glad to see the dick who wrecked a beautiful DC-9 is back at work. But in all reality, is it really that hard to not hit an airplane, heck even a Cessna is bigger then a normal car.

Wait, why aren't we blaming Menzies for this? Seems that this kind of thing happens all over the world all the time, but when it happens to AS in SEA, it's proof of incompetence...  Wink

Evidently. Heck, 2 weeks ago we had a de-ice truck hit the tail of an MD-88... grounded it for days and caused hundreds of thousands in damage... and that didn't even make local news!

Just an update.....the cause has been determined to be complete brake failure. It's too bad it had to happen, but for the fueler's sake, I'm glad that he didn't do anything to cause it. United hopes to have the 737 out of Boise by Wednesday.

Except of course that there is plenty of evidence of Menzies' incompetence.
