Interesting Fact About The F-WWDD!

Sat Jan 14, 2006 12:58 am

Hi all,

Just figured out something while browsing through planespotters.net. Did you know that F-WWDD, today, the Emirates "painted" A380 is using the same test reg that the famous A320 that crashed at the Hasbsheim Airshow in 1988?

ashamed  Well, it's friday the 13th isn't it?

Enough pessismism: all other planes that used the WWDD test reg are still active today (and there are 51 of them! Big grin )
Best regards to all of you!

Is that the A320 that was computer controlled and flew itself into a forest?

What about F-WWOW? Was that a previously used registration? Because it fits the first A380 perfectly, it definitly is a WOW.
Is it weird I have a RemoveBeforeFlight pitot cover on my car rear view mirror?

No that one's been reserved for the A380 exclusively! No other record of any WWOW before!

Classic Airbus PR

Actually I don't think it's that classic...

A few years ago Airbus was light years behind the competition in terms of PR, especially with the general public. They realized it could help selling planes to create a hype and they got on to it real heavy!

I think they're just doing a tad too much now. It evens turns into bad PR when the product quality is not what it was advertised to be...
I'll do my own airline. With Blackjack. And hookers. In fact, forget the airline.
