Boeing At The Berlin Airshow?

Wed Jan 18, 2006 11:06 pm

Boeing always neglected the Berlin Air Show ILA during the last years especially because the more important Farnborough Air Show is around the same time and they did not bother to appear at both airshows because of the high costs involved.
Anyway, Lufthansa has announced that they will place a huge order this year:
737 replacement, A340 replacement and they will eventually order the 747-8i.
Well of course Lufthansa is not know to be very patriotic but could it be that Boeing will appear at this years Berlin Air Show in Lufthansa´s homeland as a gesture to its client ?
I know that appearing to the biggest Airshow in an airline´ s homeland is not the reason why an airline buys the aircraft but nevertheless did the manufacturers
a lot of marketing on these airshows over the last few years. Especially the Dubai Air Show is an example for this.
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong
