380 Coming To JNB?

Thu Jan 19, 2006 5:20 pm

I have just heard a rumour that the 380 is expected to visit JNB in the near future. Does anyone have any information in this regard?

It is a pity that it won't make it down to Durban. Would love to see it.  cry

My information is that Airbus will be making a presentation to SAA within the next month and, depending on the interest, a decision will be made to bring the aircraft here.

It makes sense, with SAA having a full Airbus maintenance facility here too, but it would appear that the initial hot and high testing is taking place in Colombia. There's only a couple of months left to get any "hot" testing in before late in the year.
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...
